Dear Colne Engaine Community
This summer Colne Engaine Football club have to make a decision on the future running of the club. There will be a meeting to discuss this on the 12thJune at 8.00 at the Five Bells in Colne Engaine. This will be followed by the club AGM.
We have 3 big issues which I’ve outlined below. We are in the position where if we are not able to find solutions to these issues there will be no football club in Colne Engaine for next season.
We need to replace 3 committee positions at the AGM. The Club Secretary, Treasurer and Chairperson. The club is run as a limited company, so those taking on the roles would also become part of the company board. Any volunteers for any of these positions please let me know.
This year the club had issues fulfilling fixtures due to inconsistency in the number of players available each week. If anyone you know is interested in playing Saturday football please do get in contact.
You may well have seen that last week the club’s mower was stolen, although this was insured, this gives us a huge financial issue for the ongoing running of the club. We get fantastic support from the Five Bells with our sponsorship, but if anyone can help with additional sponsorships, or has experience of fundraising using local companies please get in contact.
